Shakib wants Mushfiqur bromance in five matches out of rest eight

Despite the blazing start from Soumya Sarkar, Bangladesh won’t put up their ODI highest 330-6 against South Africa unless Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim combined for a 142-run partnership for the third wicket stand.
This was Bangladesh’s highest partnership in World Cup for any stand, which helped them eventually to post such a total that eventually was too hot to handle for the Porteas. They fell short of 21 runs to hand Bangladesh the groundbreaking victory in the World Cup opener.
But the partnership between Shakib and Mushfiqur was key and it was their fifth partnership in ODI cricket, meaning how they savour each other’s company at the crease.
“We are playing together from the BKSP days and in fact we are playing together from the Under-15 and in the batting order mostly we came one after another with him ahead of me most of the time,” Shakib revealed the recipe behind the success.
“It was the same when I came to national team and it did not change. Alhamdulliah I could make a big partnership with him and if I can do the same in five matches out of the rest eight it will be good.”
Shakib said the key thing is to play with Mushfiqur from the childhood and that’s why their understand each other very well.
“I think me and Mushfiq always at some very good partnership in test even we have the highest run partnership for Bangladesh. We have played very good partnership last 10-12 years. Because we have been playing since Under-15 so know each other very well. we know each other game very well. We can complement each other very well. I think that was the key things.”
