Bangladesh skipper Mashrafee bin Murtaza said on Saturday that Tamim Iqbal will give the final call about his availability in the opening game against South Africa.
Bangladesh might be ravaged by injury to key several players but that couldn’t dampen the mood in the dressing room as the players looked determined to come all guns blazing against South Africa on Sunday at The Oval.
Bangladesh's injury woes have only deepened after Tamim Iqbal suffered an injury during practice on Friday. The left-hander came out from the nets after sustaining a blow on his left wrist during his batting session and was immediately rushed to the dressing room along with physio Thian Chandramohan.

According to BCB officials, Tamim had a precautionary x-ray which showed no fracture. He will have further test tomorrow to assess his availability for Bangladesh's opening encounter of the world cup, against South Africa.
‘’I think he had a fitness test. He already on the ground with physio. So I think physio will give a final -- actually not physio. Tamim will give a final call how he's feeling because all depends on Tamim. I know specifically players understand himself and how that will go tomorrow. I think Tamim will give us a final call,’’ Mashrafe told reporters ahead of their opening game.
While the team’s batting bedrock Tamim Iqbal’s participation in the team’s World Cup opener remains uncertain following a wrist injury, Bangladesh also have fitness concern of Mohammad Saifuddin, who is recovering from a back problem, along with captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza (hamstring), Mustafizur Rahman (calf) and Mahmudullah Riyad (shoulder). Shakib Al Hasan suffered a back spasm recently but is expected to be back to full fitness.
