Bangladesh is favorite against Pakistan: Ramiz Raza

Former Pakistani cricketer Ramiz Raza, turned to commentator, dubbed Bangladesh as favorite against Pakistan, stating that the Tigers can beat anyone on their given day.
Bangladesh faced Pakistan in the 1999 World cup, it’s the only time that they played each other in the World Cup. And Bangladesh won that match by 62 runs to create a massive uproar. The win was instrumental in getting the Test status of Bangladesh. After 20 years they will face other in the world cup for the second time.

Moreover, Bangladesh has beaten Pakistan in the Asia Cup and whitewashed them in 2015. Therefore Ramiz advised Pakistan to be cautious against Bangladesh.
“Bangladesh is ahead of Pakistan in head to head contest. They faced each other once in 1999 world cup. That match is very popular because Bangladesh won the match and Pakistan team was very strong back then.” He said.
“They have beaten Pakistan in the recent Asia cup and whitewashed them 3-0 in their home ground. They play really well against Pakistan. For this, Pakistan has to be careful. Bangladesh may not be that strong on paper but on their day they can beat anyone. They have the ability to do anything.”
Bangladesh and Pakistan will face each other on 5th July at Lords. That would be last match for both of the team in this World Cup. It may come down to an equation that both of the team have to win that match to qualify for the next round.
“So, if we consider recent performance and previous meeting in the world cup, Bangladesh is ahead of Pakistan in that aspect,” Ramiz said.
