Newly appointed West Indies skipper Rovman Powell insisted that leading the side will hardly have any sever impact on him as he can bank on the experience of the senior who will be beside him when they take on Bangladesh in the three-match ODI series, beginning from November 9.
Powell had to take the responsibility as West Indies opted to groom him instead of relying on the experience with the likes of Marlon Samuels, Darren Bravo and Carlos Brathwaite after regular skipper Jason Holder was ruled out due to shoulder injury.

The decision looked to be impulsive but not for the 25-year old Powell who looked to be at ease while handling the media for the first time ahead of a three-match ODI series in the role of a leader.
''It will pose some challenges but you only captain when you are fielding. Once we are batting, I am no longer the captain. I am just Rovman Powell batting in his position,'' Powell stated firmly that indicted his composure ahead of the series at Dhaka on Saturday.
''As it is, we have a few senior guys like Marlon Samuels, Darren Bravo and Carlos Brathwaite the T20 captain so a lot of experience is there to help me along the way,’’ he said.
Powell first took to cricket when he was at the Old Harbor Junior and High School where he began the cricket journey that has fetched him dividends aplenty in the following days.
Starting out as a bowler who bats, he has evolved into a batsman who bowls, and a pretty destructive one at that. It's not for nothing that he earned the tag of 'Jr Andre Russell' and at quite a nascent stage and if he plays to the billing than he can make it hard for the host.
