West Indies skipper Rovman Powell oozed with confidence to beat Bangladesh in the ODI series, putting their disastrous performance in the Test series, where they were whitewashed, behind them.
Powell thinks it would be an equally-fought series given the strength of both sides but he believes his side has the ability to come all guns blazing.
“We are no longer focused on the Test series. We are focused on white-ball cricket. Guys are motivated and upbeat and hopefully we can get best possible result,” Powell said on Saturday during the pre-match conference for the first ODI.
Bangladesh are bolstered with the inclusion of Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal in the ODI series but Powell seemed to be unfazed by their inclusion.

“I think we have a good enough team to beat them in Bangladesh. They are in full strength but we are also close to full strength. It will be an exciting series,” he opined.
Powell said that they have also got back the players like Darren Bravo, Marlon Samuels, who enriched their resources.
“It bodes well for West Indies to have two experienced guys who can take on spin bowling. They will definitely carry the batting along with youngsters like myself, Hetmyer and Shai Hope.”
The West Indian captain emphasized on winning the key moment, which he believed would be decisive factor.
“It will be very equal. Both teams have good spinners, fast bowlers and batters. It will be a very competitive series, and it will come down to who wins those key moments in each game.
Like Bangladesh, West Indies are also concerned with the dew factor and Powell who played the BPL here said, they are aware about it.
“It is a big factor here. I played the BPL here where I saw the dew factor. We will take it in consideration when take decisions tonight or tomorrow morning.”
