Zimbabwe spinners were instrumental in the ground-breaking victory but the batsmen’s effort shouldn’t be overlooked. Part of the credit should be given to Peter Moor whose valiant effort saw the team earning a match-defining 139 runs first innings lead as he guided the tail, dealing with extreme spin to help the side reach 282 runs in the first innings. Moor was unbeaten on 63 in that innings.

While even some outstanding batsmen of the world struggled against the spin in sub-continent, Moor’s success was quite amazing. The batsman however gave credit to Lance Klusener, the former legendary South African all-rounder, for his revolution against spin.

“I think i just wanna have a strong defense when I play spin. That’s something I am fairly capable of,” Peter Moor said on Friday.

“That was my game plan in the first Test. I knew the best condition is to bat first. I wanted to make to most of it. I make sure we batted the whole first day. That helped the side in good stage, so hopefully I can continue in the next match.”

Working with Klusener intensively to how to deal with spinners in sub-continent, when he was their batting coach, made him different batsman, informed Moor.

“I am not too sure to be honest. I think I did a lot of work with lance klusener the previous batting coach, when we came across to Bangladesh. He tough me some good thinks about getting my bat in front of my pad. I think I worked hard at it. Obviously Zimbabwe is not very spin friendly condition, but I think it helped me. Whenever I have come to sub-continent I batted well against spin,” he said adding, “So, all credit to him probably.”
