Bangladesh national cricket team received an injury scare on Wednesday (September 5) ahead of the Asia Cup as batsman Nazmul Hossain hurt his left thumb while practicing at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium during a skill training session.
Nazmul hurt his finger while taking part in a fielding drill and was taken to the hospital for further assessment.
According to chief selector Minhajul Abedin, they will go for a replacement, if necessary, after getting the final report from the physicians.

“We are yet to decide anything regarding replacement as we are yet to get a report from the physician,” BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin told the reporters.
According to BCB sources, either Mominul Haque or Soumya Sarkar is expected to fill the gap if Nazmul cannot manage to get the fitness that he requires, in order to join the Asia Cup squad.
However, BCB senior physician Debashis Chowdhury said that they are not ruling out Nazmul immediately.
“He is yet to be ruled out because there is no fracture,” said Debashish.
“We told the coach to give us 48 hours as it will be required to make a final assessment of his injury,” he added.
