Bangladesh’s opener Liton Kumar Das said on Wednesday that he is eyeing to make a comeback in the ODI setup of the Tigers in the upcoming Asia Cup. The dashing right-handed batsman is also looking forward to cementing his place in all three formats.
Anamul Haque’s lean patch followed by Liton’s match-winning knock in the third and final T20I against West Indies last month, prompted the team management to provide the 23-year-old with an opportunity to feature in the upcoming Asia Cup tournament, scheduled to be played in UAE, from September 15.

“This is actually a good opportunity. I have been out of the ODI team for a long time and if I get a chance then I will try to do well,” Liton told reporters after the practice session at Mirpur.
“Being regular [in the team] means something different, but nothing can be better than performing well.
“We have two matches in the Asia Cup ahead of us and they are very important,” he added.
Liton is currently considered to be one of the most talented batsmen. However, he is yet to showcase his talent in full scale despite being in the team for quite some time. As a result, he remained out of the opening spot for the ODI squad since October 2017 after the debacle in South Africa but somehow managed to keep his place in Test and T20Is.
