Rain forces early finish between Bangladesh A and Ireland A

Another one-day match remains undecided for Bangladesh A as rain forced the game between them and the Ireland Wolves to be abandoned at Wicklow. It was the first one-dayer of a five-match series that is part of the Bangladeshi side’s tour of Ireland.
Winning the toss, Bangladesh A opted to bowl after rain delayed the start of the game by four hours. The match was trimmed to 28 overs per side and the Ireland Wolves looked to score runs at a brisk rate despite losing an early wicket.
The heavens opened up once again when Ireland were at 37/1 after five overs. Then the umpires finally called the game off following a pitch inspection.
The last one-day series of the Bangladesh A, against Sri Lanka A, had ended in a stalemate after the third and final 50-over match got abandoned due to rain. The Mominul Haque-led men will surely not want to suffer the same fate in Ireland and will look to make the best of the remaining matches.
The second match between Bangladesh A and Ireland A will be held at the same venue, on August 3.
