Bangladesh post daunting total after Tamim's ton

Bangladesh and West Indies are facing each other in the decisive ODI at St Kitts. The Tiger won the first ODI by 48 runs before the Caribbean side squared the series with a narrow 3-run win in the second.

While Bangladesh have decided not to tinker with their paying XI, West Indies have opted for two changes. Alzarri Jospeh, who has been sanctioned by the ICC for the send-off of Anamul Haque, has been replaced by Sheldon Cottrell. Kieran Powell, on the other hand, came in as a replacement for Jason Mohammad.

Bangladesh have won the toss and chose to bat.

Unlike the previous match, Anamul Haque took a cautious approach and kept rotating the strike with Tamim Iqbal. However, the right-hander had to depart in the last over of the powerplay. Windies skipper Jason Holder removed him for 10 runs.

Tamim then stitched an 81-run stand with Shakib Al Hasan before Ashley Nurse dismissed the latter for 37. Mushfiqur Rahim couldn’t make his mark and threw his wicket away scoring 12 runs.

Tamim Iqbal then picked up his eleventh ODI century before getting out. Devendra Bishoo scalped his wicket and left the door open for an aggressive Mashrafe Mortaza to put up a quick-fire innings. The Bangladesh captain shared a 52-run partnership with Mahmudullah Riyad and returned to the pavilion scoring 36 runs as Holder got him out.

Sabbir Rahman once again failed to make an impact and managed to contribute only 12 runs to the total. He was dismissed by Sheldon Cottrell. Riyad and Mosaddek Hossain then lifted the total past 300 runs. Riyad played a crucial innings of 67 runs while Mosaddek too remained unbeaten on 11.
