Tamim and Shakib keep calm and bat on

The limited-over leg of Bangladesh’s tour of West Indies tour have kicked off with the first ODI between the two sides, in Guyana.
The Tigers were not able to pose any challenge to the Caribbean side in the longest format as West Indies completed a clean sweep in the Test series. However, this goes without saying that Bangladesh will try their best to bounce back in the 50-over format, where they have been a consistent team over the past few years.
Winning the toss, Bangladesh decided to bat first. They dealt an early blow Jason Holder removed Anamul Haque before the batsman could open his account.
The Tigers posted 10 runs before rain briefly interrupted the contest during the fifth over. Together, Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan restored the innings for their side as soon as the game resumed. A poor fielding department of the hosting side also eased the pressure off the Tigers despite continuous efforts from the bowling unit.

Both Tamim and Shakib have picked up their half-centuries with their cautious approach. Bangladesh are at 123/1 in 29 overs and will be looking to exploit the opponents’ weaknesses more in a bid to register a respectable total.
