According to the International Cricket Council, no evidence of match-fixing was found surrounding the third Ashes Test last year between Australia and England in Perth. Earlier, UK newspaper The Sun reported alleged plans to fix part of the third Ashes Test last year.

The Sun reported alleged spot-fixing on the eve of the third Test that took place from December 14-18. They published the secret recordings of two bookmakers claiming they had someone in the Australian camp who was able to help arrange spot-fixing in the Test. Sobers Joban and Priyank Saxena, the bookmakers, also claimed that they could fix games in the Australian Big Bash T20 competition, and the IPL as well.

However, ICC finished their investigation on Thursday as they got no evidence that players from either side were involved in such incidents.

ICC’s anti-corruption general manager Alex Marshall reportedly said, "We have carried out an extensive global investigation with anti-corruption colleagues from Member countries based on the allegations in The Sun and the material they shared with us.

"I am satisfied that there is no evidence to suggest any match has been corrupted by the individuals in the investigation nor is there any indication that any international players, administrators or coaches have been in contact with the alleged fixers."
