Shakib Al Hasan might be recovering from the injury that was inflicted on him during the final against Sri Lanka, but there is no lack of praise for the Bangladeshi all-rounder. The all-rounder was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the auctions for 2 crore rupees.

And VVS Laxman, the mentor of Sunrisers Hyderabad, was incredibly pleased with it. Indeed, he labeled Shakib as the first choice buy for the team and were lucky to get him. He also stated that the newly-appointed Test captain of Bangladesh is the best all-rounder in the world.

“We have been lucky over the last 4 years where we got the players we nailed down, but Shakib [Al Hasan] and Manish Pandey were those two players along with Shikhar [Dhawan]. [They were] the three players who we nailed down.

“They were our number 1 priority and luckily we got them.

“Shakib is a wonderful all-rounder and he gives that stability in the middle order as batsmen and can as a spinner give us 4 overs for sure. For along time, he is rated as the best all-rounder in world cricket. So Manish Pandey, Shakib and Shikhar and Shakib were our number one choice and we are very happy and pleased that we got them. “

The words of VVS Laxman should be inspiring for the Bangladeshi. He might have played for Kolkata Knight Riders for a long time, but he never really valued as much as he should have been. However, it seems as though the Hyderabad unit will handle him with more reverence than KKR did.
