Pressure has no colour, says Hathurusingha

Sri Lanka coach Chandika Hathurusingha has rubbished claims
about feeling the pressure of going against his former team, Bangladesh. The
Sri Lankan coach stressed that pressure has no visible colour and quite
strongly denied feeling the heat.
“Does pressure have any colour?” he asked the reporter in a
press conference.
“Did you ever seen pressure with your own eyes? No, I am not
stressed about the series against Bangladesh.”
He also enthused that Bangladesh are a difficult opponent
and that the Tigers know how to utilize home conditions. The Sri Lankan also
subtly reminded them about how his tenure in Bangladesh was a highly successful
one, losing a series only to England at home soil.

“Since the last two years, Bangladesh have been a very
strong opponent [for the other teams]. Bangladesh only lost to England at home
during my time as a coach there.
“They have beaten big teams like India, Pakistan and South
Africa. That’s why there is no pressure for the Bangladesh tour, only a
challenge. They know how to take advantage of home conditions.”
Meanwhile, newly-reappointed ODI captain, Angelo Matthews,
also addressed the media and spoke about the progress of the Tigers. He,
however, believes that if his team adapt to the conditions, they could win in
Bangladesh.
“Bangladesh are going through a good time. They have beaten
the upper-ranked teams. There is a big challenge awaiting us over there.
However, if we play according to the conditions, we have the chance to do well.”
The tri-nation series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe starts from the 15th of this month, with Bangladesh taking on Zimbabwe in the first game. The Test series against Sri Lanka will begin on the 31st of January and the T20I series will commence from the 15th of February.
