South Africa Test skipper Quinton de Kock has been named the South Africa cricketer of the year for the second time in his illustrious international cricket career.
The wicketkeeper-batsman has also bagged the Test cricketer of the year award. The white-ball skipper previously had this prestigious award back in 2017 and named himself in the elite club of players who have won this award which was introduced in 2004 for multiple times.
“Quinny is the leading wicketkeeper-batsman in Test cricket and is, in fact, one of the leading batsmen in both red-ball and white-ball cricket. He is also starting to emerge as an outstanding leader,” Cricket South Africa (CSA) Acting CEO, Jacques Faul was quoted as saying in a leading English portal.

Apart from De Kock, the young opener Laura Wolvaardt received the women’s cricketer of the year and ODI cricketer of the year award.

Anrich Nortje, who made his Test debut in India and took a five-for in the Test series against England, was adjudged the International men’s ‘newcomer’ player of the year.
