Cricket South Africa (CSA) rescheduled their tournament date from June 27 to July 18 at SuperSport Park in Centurion, which also happens to be the Nelson Mandela International Day.
The match will take place from SAST 11 AM. The 3T cricket match is a fund-raiser and the proceeds would go to the ones affected in the coronavirus pandemic. The 36-over contest will be played by three teams, where AB de Villiers, Kagiso Rabada and Quinton de Kock have been named the captains of the respective teams.

The teams which will be featured in the tournament are Quinny’s Kites, KG’s Kingfishers and AB’s Eagles. Each team consists of eight players and each team will be played in two halves of 18 overs each. The board feels that the extended time might give the players to get themselves prepared.
“It’s very exciting to get live cricket featuring our top players back on our TV screens again. I can’t think of a more appropriate day on which to hold this game than Nelson Mandela Day when its prime objective is to raise funds for those who have been badly affected by the coronavirus,” CSA acting chief executive Dr Jacques Faul, was quoted as saying in Eyewitness News.
“It is still nearly three weeks away, so it also gives our players more time to prepare properly and to minimise the chance of injuries,” he added.
“I would like to thank the government and our own medical team once again for everything they have done to make a return to training and playing possible and I would also like to add special thanks to the incredible sponsors involved in this event for their continued commitment towards the match and its beneficiary, the Hardship Fund,” Faul added.
