Sri Lankan cricketers set to start residential camp from June 1

Sri Lankan cricketers will start their group residential training from June 1, if the situation of the novel coronavirus does not worsen any further in the country, said SLC sources.
The training will be under the supervision of Sri Lanka Cricket [SLC] head coach Mickey Arthur and the training staff at the venue while SLC have shortlisted two venues for training purpose- Colombo Cricket Club Ground [CCC Ground] or the Singhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground [SSC Ground].

According to sources, Sri Lankan Ministry of Sports has issued a 12-page guideline in five different phases for different athletes and the cricketers will be put in phase four, titled as ‘group residential training with the coach and supporting staff at the venue.
The Ministry of Sports has recommended a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15 players along with the support staff in this phase four category. Players will be asked to avoid shaking hands.
It was learnt that Dr Daminda Attanayake will led the Sports Ministry Medical Team his work will be to check players health status proactively and regularly including taking their temperature and monitoring for any symptoms.
PCR testing has been recommended by the doctors before commencing training and to repeat this testing after six days during the whole training period while players will reside in a hotel and will not be allowed to go home during the entire duration.
Also, the transport provider will be considered as a team member and will stay at hotel rather than travel to home at the same time.
