Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafee bin Mortaza thanked fans to remain behind him through thick and thin as he took over the field for the last time as Tigers captain during the last game of the three-match series against Zimbabwe at Sylhet on Friday.
Crowed were seen gathering in front of Sylhet International Cricket Stadium collecting tickets by standing in formation for long three hours from the morning to witness the historical match that saw one of their greatest cricketing brain taking his last shot as Bangladesh captain.

“Today is weekend, as well as the last match of Mashrafe as captain. So there will be a lot of fans today,’’ a fan said,
Fans are the backbone of any team and Mashrafee always remained their favourite as they always love to watch his game, wants him to perform well and always tried to be besides him.
So it seems it was very hard for the fans also to accept the decision of the man they want to see perform for longer period of time.
”When you are doing it for last 5-6 years, boys have been working hard for me as well as the team, their support and the coaching staff, it is going to be emotional. There are so many moments, there have been lots of ups and downs but the thing we look at is the progress as a team. My best wishes will be with the team. The fans expect us to win every game and hopefully the next captain can motivate the team to do well. I love this game and the supporters. They support us if we win or lose and that's been my motivation,’’ said Mashrafee.
