Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal said on Wednesday that he is thankful to his teammates and team management to keep belief on him and dedicated the century for them.

Tamim, who scored his last ODI’s hundred 21 months and 23 innings ago during their tour of West Indies, came down blazing against Zimbabwe to notch his 12th ODI century and it appeared he was adamant to break free from his own shell and give an account of his former self who was known as an aggressive batsman.

“A lot of the credit goes to team management because they always believed in me. I was batting well in the Test matches and in the nets, and I knew something big was coming from me,” he said.

“Even I want to thank the board. The board president called me ahead of the match and told something very inspirational for me. A few people came hard on me when I wasn’t in the form. But what is important for me that the people, important for me, the teammates, team management and board kept belief on me. It matters and therefore I dedicated my century to them,” he said adding that Neil McKenzie also played a big part behind his development.

See he (Neil Mckenzie) is our batting coach. Normally we batsmen go to him whenever we face any problem. We like to have his advice. His many advice can be fruitful for me also cannot be to Liton. Basically it depends on the individual. And he is the kind person always try to help everyone and helped me as much as he can,’’ he said.
