Mushfiqur Rahim eclipsed his captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza to play the highest number of one-day Internationals for Bangladesh after turning up for the third match against Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday.
With the match, Mushfiqur played his 216 ODIs for Bangladesh’s jersey. Mashrafe though played 217 ODIs after making his debut against Zimbabwe in November 2001, he played two matches for Asia XI against Africa XI.

Excluding those two matches, Mashrafe played 215 ODIs for Bangladesh’s jersey.
Mushfiqur made his ODI debut, five years after Mashrafe. He also played his first match against Zimbabwe in August 2006.
Over the last 13 years, Mushfiqur established him one of the finest batsmen in the country, scoring 6090 runs in 215 matches.
Mashrafe however still remains best Bangladeshi fast bowler by a mile even though he suffered a poor form in recently concluded World Cup.
Mashrafe was ruled out of Bangladesh’s team for the three-match series against Sri Lanka due to his hamstring injury. Otherwise he still can remain the player with highest number of ODI matches for Bangladesh.
