Australia pacer Mitchell Starc has become the bowler with most wickets in a World Cup. He has taken 27 wickets in this tournament and in doing so, he surpassed his compatriot Glenn McGrath.

McGrath took 26 wickets in the 2007 World cup in West Indies. His record was intact for 12 years. But with the wicket of Jonny Bairstow of England, Starc has outdone that milestone. Sri Lankan Chaminda Vaas in the third position with 23 wickets. In 2007 World Cup Muttiah Muralidharan also took 23 wickets. Shaun Tait also took 23 wickets in the same edition of the World Cup.
Mcgrath is on the top in terms of overall wickets in the World Cup. He took 71 wickets in 39 matches. With amazing performance in two consecutive World Cup Strac has made his way into this list also. He is now the fifth highest wicket taker bowler in the World Cup. He took 49 wickets in 18 matches.
Muralidharan is second in this list. He took 68 wickets. Lasith Malinga is in number three position with 56 wickets. And Pakistani pacer Wasim Akram is fourth with 55 wickets.
