Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe bin Murtaza said that he is a firm believer of luck and it played a big role behind their success and they need to have it on their side if they want to progress ahead.
Bangladesh beat South Africa by 21 runs to open their account in the World Cup on the perfect note and many believe it happened due to their sheer performance.
However, Mashrafee disagreed and said that they were lucky to earn a win in their opening game.
‘’If any other captain was in my place, maybe he could have said differently. But I believe in luck. Of course we do planning, every team does that. But planning doesn’t always work, luck is also necessary. If we want to do the best result in this type of tournament you will need the favor of luck all time,’’ said Mashrafee
‘’If you see todays match, among all the turning ball in the match, the ball that most turned is the du Plessis wicket ball. We didn’t expect that ball will turn that much. So that’s the thing I am saying that you have to have some luck. So, if we want to do well in this tournament we have to have some luck, only playing well isn’t enough,’’ he said.
Mashrafee said that they need to quickly get over from the win against South Africa and start thinking about their next game.
‘’So we are concentrating on our game; that we can deliver -- if we can deliver our best. We knew that, you know, in that stage it's going to be very difficult for us.
