English pace bowler Chris Woakes announced every world cup probable will be keeping an eye on their phone as the English national chief selectors are expected to announce the world cup very shortly.

National Chief selector Ed Smith must have gone through some sleepless nights as he prepared the world cup squad for England. Due to the fact everyone is playing consistently throughout the year especially against Pakistan. As they defeated their Asian counterparts in the recently concluded 5 match ODI series.

Chris Woakes the English pace bowler who took five wickets in the last match against Pakistan is also uncertain about his position in the world cup squad. He suggests that nobody is safe as they will look anxiously on their phone tomorrow, at the final selection day of the England squad.

"Everyone will be looking at their phones tomorrow. Everyone will be wary of that phone call, Even if you feel like you've got a good chance to being in the squad, until you hear it from selectors' mouth; it's not quite set in stone. “ He said.

England's 15-man squad for the 50-over tournament due to be announced on Tuesday morning, players will find out on Monday whether they are in it or not. Eoin Morgan said all 17 players will be considered, each having a legitimate shot at a World Cup place.

All the talk about Archer’s inclusion in the squad and his brilliant performance in the recent series made the life of English bowlers more difficult.  If Jofra Archer is included at least one player who has been on the four-year journey with this side will be watching from the sidelines.

But players also understand that the selectors must have to make tough choices for the betterment of the team.

"As a player you're still probably a little bit on edge, in particularly with this 16 and 17 players. Everyone has performed at some point over the series. It's a tricky decision for selectors and I'm glad I'm not having to make that decision. It has to be done I suppose." He added.

But Wokes believes this competition has made everyone to work harder for the national team and everyone is giving their all for the selection. This competition has made England the most competitive side in the World Cup.

"It's certainly driven everyone forward to try and improve, to make sure they're on top of their game, to make sure they tick everything off in practice. Whenever you get the opportunity to bowl in practice, or bat or field, you constantly feel...not like you're on audition, but like it's an opportunity to show your skills. It's certainly driven everyone to try and improve and it's certainly showed in our performances over the series."
