Leg-spin is always considered as a difficult art to master in the game but the way Brandon Mavuta bowled in the first Test against Bangladesh amazed all. Zimbabwe team management had faith on him despite he couldn’t come up with any performance of note in the ODI series and the first innings of the first Test against the hosts. But he proved as to why the team management highly rated him, snapping up four for 21 in the second innings to dismantle Bangladesh middle order and thereby scripted the side’s 151-run victory for the first time in overseas condition since 2001.

However he remained tightlipped to disclose the name of leg-spinner who he follows.

“We are all different in certain way. But I always follow all the leg spinners in the international arena,” he said.

“Because there is always something similar to each other, because we all are leg spinners. Try to look at what they do and how they get it right. Yeah, i follow lot of them, but I can’t mention (the name).”

Mavuta said his experience to play in Bangladesh’s condition during his stint with Under-19 team was also key in his success.

“Wickets are different everywhere you go. Luckily i played here during my under 19, so I sort of know the wicket down here. It’s a plus on my side so I am quite happy.”
