Bangladeshi all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain returned to cricket by playing in the Bangladesh Premier League after a long break due to his eye injury. He could not bat in the top-order in a star-studded Dhaka Dynamites side. Mosaddek scored 64 runs in 9 matches in the tournament.

Mosaddek played for the Tigers in June in the Champions Trophy semi-finals before getting injured. He missed the Test series against Australia and the tour of South Africa as well.

BCB announced a 16-men squad ahead of the tri-nation series and Sunzamul has been named in the team. Mosaddek has not been included in the squad and will look forward to making his return in near future.

"Mosaddek has not been with the national team since the tour of South Africa. He has played in BPL overcoming his injury. He was not up to the mark in there(BPL).

"He is everyone's favorite player. I hope he will return by putting up a good display in the BCL," said Minhajul Abedin Nannu.

Last year Sunzamul Islam made his ODI debut against Ireland in May. The left-handed spin bowling all-rounder had taken 2 wickets conceding 22 runs in the 5 overs he had bowled. He has not played for the national side since.

Although Rangpur Riders' Nazmul Islam was expected to make his debut in the upcoming series following his brilliant performance in the BPL, the chief selector Minjhajul Abedin explained his reasons behind the selection of Sunzamul.

"Sunzamul has been in the systematic process for a while. He was in the HP(High Performance team) and played under the coach; Apu, on the other hand, was not.
