Doleshwar, Mohammedan win in Saif-ruled day in DPL

Saif Hasan starred in the day with a monumental 116 ball-148 not out, which helped his Prime Doleshwar to ease past Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club. In other Super League match of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL), Mohammedan hit back to winning-way with a seven wicket win over Prime Bank Cricket Club.
Sheikh Jamal vs Prime Doleshwar
Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club thrashed Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by seven-wickets in the Super League game of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) at BKSP-3 ground on Sunday thanks to an epic century from youngster Saif Hasan.
In his six-filled knock, which was his fifth List A century, Saif single-handedly demolished Sheikh Jamal bowling attack into smithereens to end their five-match winning-streak to put his side to fourth place in the league with 18 points. Sheikh Jamal also have 18 points but thanks to better-run-rate they retain the third spot.

Being sent to bat first, Sheikh Jamal were bowled out for 243 in 49.3 overs. This was by no means an easy target to achieve but Saif Hasan made it just one-way traffic, smashing 116 ball-148 not out, which included 10 fours and 11 massive six. His knock helped his side gun down the total with 244-3 in just 38.3 overs.
He was ably supported by Farhad Hossain’s 78 off 80, studded by seven fours and three sixes. Saif and Farhad combined for a 188-run for the third wicket stand after Doleshwar were reduced to 30-2. Their partnership help the side ease past the target with 70 balls unused. Taijul Islam was the most successful bowler for Jamal with 2-44.
Farhad Reza and Taibul Rahman snapped up three wickets apiece to dismantle Sheikh Jamal. Tanbir Hyder was the highest scorer for them with 63 ball-69 that featured with five fours and two sixes. Rakin Ahmed was the other notable scorer with 38 while opener Imtiaz Hossain added 33.
Mohammedan vs Prime Bank
Mohammedan Sporting Club recorded a comprehensive seven-wicket win over Prime Bank Cricket Club in their fourth match of Super League phase of Dhaka Premier League (DPL) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Put into bat first, Prime Bank were bundled out for 174 in 42. 2 overs, a score which Mohammedan effortlessly overhauled, making 175-3 in just 35 overs.
Opener Abdul Majid gave the initial impetus, hitting 54 off 71, sending the ball across the rope for seven times. Skipper Raqibul Hasan then sailed the side home with an unbeaten 68 ball-52, clobbering seven fours.
Another opener Liton Das, a vital cog of Bangladesh’s world cup plan, yet again got a good start but failed to convert it to big one. He was dismissed for 32 off 20.
Left-spinner Saqlain Sajib earlier put Prime Bank in trouble, claiming 4-40 in 10 overs. He was ably supported by off-spinner Sohag Gazi who grabbed 3-38 as Prime Bank found them in wanting from the very beginning. The highest run came from the willow of Alok Kapali who made 43. Nahidul Islam was the other notable scorer with 26.
