Tamim Iqbal, whose Asia Cup campaign ended after injuring his wrist in the very first match of Bangladesh, will fly out to England on Wednesday (September 26) to take a decide on his next course of action regarding the injury.
The southpaw is also doubtful for the Tigers’ home-series against Zimbabwe next month.

“Tamim is going to England to consult the doctor,” said BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury. “The doctor there will decide what he’ll have to do now. Right now, I cannot say if he requires a surgery. Our medical team is looking into the matter.”
With an average of 90.16, Tamim Iqbal is only behind Virat Kohli among the batsmen who have scored more than 500 runs in ODIs this year.
Despite being in such a great form it is surely disappointing for Tamim to miss opportunity to hone his skills at the international levels. However, he will now look to recover from the injury as soon as possible and get back on the field ahead of the World Cup next year.
“He [Tamim] is going to Dr. David Warwick. We've sent the scanned X-ray pictures [to the doctor]. However, the doctor wants to examine Tamim's injury himself. As far as I know, he will return upon the check-up. Hopefully, no surgery will be required. Physio Thillan Chandramohan is coordinating the entire thing from Dubai, regarding communicating with the doctor in England,” said Desbashis Chowdhury, BCB's chief physician.
