In a special ceremony held on Sunday, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) unveiled the 11th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League’s (BPL) official mascot, ‘Dana-36’. This new addition aims to elevate BPL’s global appeal while introducing a fresh perspective to the competition.
The mascot unveiling was part of the "Youth Festival 2025," organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The event was graced by chief guest Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Advisor to the Ministries of Youth and Sports, and Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives.
Also in attendance were BCB President Faruque Ahmed, Bangladesh Football Federation President Tabith Awal, along with other BCB officials. Members of both the men’s and women’s national cricket teams, as well as school and college students, also joined the celebrations.
The event turned into a grand reunion for past and present cricketers. Current Bangladesh national team captain Najmul Hossain Shanto was seen engaging in lively conversations with former captains Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim. Members of the women’s cricket team were also present, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The mascot, ‘Dana-36,’ is designed as a symbol of the recent student-citizen movements and the ongoing political transformations in Bangladesh. It represents the spirit of freedom, unity, and the collective passion of Bangladeshi sports enthusiasts.
