Bangladesh are currently fourth in the WTC 2025-27 standings with three wins from six Tests.
Their nine-wicket victory over Australia in Darwin gave them a major boost in the race for a place in the final.
Bangladesh’s upcoming Test against Afghanistan is not part of the WTC cycle. They will then play two Tests in South Africa before hosting two-Test series against the West Indies and England, leaving six WTC matches in the remainder of the cycle.
Mushtaq believes Bangladesh have enough time and opportunity to make a serious push for the final.
“Why not, In Shaa Allah? We are in a great position now. If we can play good cricket, maintain our belief and continue playing well, In Shaa Allah we have the right amount of time to go all the way,” Mushtaq said.
Bangladesh have already recorded memorable Test victories over New Zealand and Pakistan, but their maiden Test win in Australia has further raised expectations. Shanto had described the Darwin victory as Bangladesh’s biggest win in any format.
With three wins from six Tests, Bangladesh currently sit fourth in the WTC table, behind Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
