After scoring a brilliant 126 in the first innings, Litton once again looked set for a century in the second innings as he batted fluently on Day Three.
However, his impressive knock ended on 69 when he was caught attempting a six over deep third man off Hasan Ali.
Had he reached three figures, Litton would have become only the third Bangladesh batter after Mominul Haque and Najmul Hossain Shanto to score centuries in both innings of a Test match.
Despite missing out on that landmark, Litton achieved a unique record among Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batters. He has now become the only wicketkeeper from the country to score a century and a half-century in the same Test on three separate occasions.
The first instance came against Pakistan in Chattogram in 2021, where he scored 114 and 59. He repeated the feat against Sri Lanka in Mirpur in 2022 with scores of 141 and 52.
