Pakistan produced a dominant all-round performance to hammer Australia by 90 runs in the second T20I at Lahore on Friday, taking a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

After being asked to bat, Pakistan posted an imposing 198 for 5, riding on a superb captain’s knock from Salman Agha.

The skipper led from the front with a blistering 76 off 40 balls, smashing eight fours and four sixes, and was well supported by Usman Khan, who struck a fluent 53 from 36 deliveries.

Saim Ayub provided a brisk start with 23 off 11 balls, while Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz added late impetus to push Pakistan close to the 200 mark.

In response, Australia’s chase never took off. They lost early wickets and were soon under severe pressure against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack.

Abrar Ahmed was the standout, claiming three wickets for just 14 runs to rip through the middle order. Shadab Khan chipped in with three wickets of his own, while Mohammad Nawaz and Usman Tariq kept things tight from the other end.

Cameron Green’s 35 was the only notable resistance for Australia as they were bowled out for 108 in just 15.4 overs.
