Babar Azam leads PSL 11 Team of the Tournament

Babar Azam has been named captain of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 Team of the Tournament after guiding Peshawar Zalmi to their first title in nine years. However, no Bangladeshi player found a place in the lineup.

A five-member panel selected the team from the commentary group, the Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed.

Zalmi lead the selections with three players, followed by Hyderabad Kingsmen with three, Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United with two each, and one each from Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators.

Babar topped the run charts with 588 runs, including two centuries. He is joined in the top order by Fakhar Zaman (401 runs) and Kusal Mendis, who scored 550 runs in a prolific season.

The middle order includes Shan Masood and Shadab Khan, the latter also named the tournament’s best all-rounder. Wicketkeeping duties go to Usman Khan, who amassed 389 runs.

Among bowlers, Sufyan Moqim stood out with 22 wickets to earn both Player of the Tournament and Best Bowler awards. He is joined by Shaheen Shah Afridi (16 wickets), emerging pacer Hunain Shah (17 wickets), Hassan Khan, and England seamer Richard Gleeson.

Hasan Nawaz was named 12th man after scoring 291 runs in the tournament.
