Bangladesh strengthened their position in the second Test against Pakistan by extending their lead to 156 runs at the end of Day Two, despite a late setback in Sylhet.

After securing a first-innings lead of 46 runs, the hosts continued to build steadily in their second innings and closed the day on 110 for 3.

However, Bangladesh suffered frustration in the final moments of play when Mominul Haque threw away his wicket with an irresponsible shot just before stumps.

The experienced batter departed for 30 off 60 balls, leaving the field visibly disappointed.

Shortly after his dismissal, the umpires called an end to the day’s play.

Bangladesh will now look to captain Najmul Hossain Shanto to guide the innings deeper on the third morning.

The skipper remained unbeaten on 13 from 32 balls at stumps, hitting one boundary.

With seven wickets still in hand, Bangladesh will hope to set Pakistan a challenging target and tighten their grip on the Test heading into Day Three.
