Bangladesh claimed a comfortable 5-wicket victory over Nepal in a low-scoring match, successfully chasing a target of 142 in just 28.4 overs in the ongoing tournament.

Opting to bowl first, Bangladesh’s disciplined bowling unit limited Nepal to a mere 141 runs in 45.4 overs.

Nepal’s innings lacked momentum, with opener Aakash Tripathi leading the effort with a determined 43 off 77 balls.

Contributions from Uttam Magar (29) and Abhisekh Tiwari (29) offered some stability but couldn’t counter Bangladesh’s tight bowling. Rizan Hossan (2/8) and Md Rafi Uzzaman Rafi (1/15) delivered economical spells, while Iqbal Hossain Emon and Al Fahad claimed two wickets each to dismantle Nepal’s middle and lower order.

In response, Bangladesh’s chase began steadily before opener Zawad Abrar’s explosive 59 off 65 balls, featuring 5 fours and 4 sixes, set the tone.

Captain Azizul Hakim guided the innings to victory with a calm and unbeaten 52, despite Nepal’s Yuvraj Khatri taking four wickets. While Bangladesh encountered minor challenges in the middle order, they comfortably reached the target
