The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) of its decision to reject the hybrid hosting model proposed for the 2025 Champions Trophy, according to Cricket Pakistan.

With the ICC Board Directors meeting scheduled for Friday, the PCB reaffirmed its stance that Pakistan will not share the hosting rights with any other country.

The PCB has reportedly urged the ICC to present a feasible solution to the hosting issue ahead of the meeting. This, they believe, would facilitate better preparation and aid in reaching a conclusive decision.

“We remain firm in our position: Pakistan will not agree to a hosting arrangement where another country becomes involved. It is unacceptable for the Pakistani team to travel to India to play matches while the Indian team refuses to come to Pakistan,” the PCB is reported to have told the ICC.

The Champions Trophy, slated for February-March 2025, has been clouded by uncertainty following India’s decision not to tour Pakistan. The PCB has consistently opposed the hybrid model and is adamant about hosting the tournament entirely in Pakistan as originally planned.

The upcoming ICC Board meeting is expected to address these concerns and discuss potential solutions. However, the PCB has emphasized that any resolution must ensure fairness and equality.
