Jofra Archer re-added to IPL auction list

England pacer Jofra Archer has been re-added to the IPL final auction list, according to a report by ESPNCricinfo.
The report mentioned that franchises were informally informed of Archer's inclusion on Thursday, with the auction scheduled to take place on November 24 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Initially, Archer was not among the England players listed for the mega-auction, a decision reportedly influenced by the ECB's efforts to manage his workload.
The fast bowler missed this year's IPL as part of these precautions ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup. In the 2023 season, Archer, playing for the Mumbai Indians, suffered a recurrence of an elbow stress fracture, sidelining him for over a year.
The ECB had prevented Archer from participating in last year’s auction to ensure his recovery wasn't rushed.
However, repeating that restriction this year could have rendered him ineligible for the tournament until at least 2027 due to IPL’s new rules.
Under these updated regulations, players who have previously participated in the IPL but skip registration for the mega auction cannot enter the mini-auction. Additionally, any player withdrawing after being signed will face a two-year ban from the tournament.
