Bangladesh’s two-day warm-up match against West Indies Select XI at the Coolidge Cricket Ground concluded in a draw on Monday, with rain interruptions and a strong bowling performance dominating the second day.

After resuming at 5-1 in response to Bangladesh’s 253-7, the West Indies XI faltered, collapsing to 87-9 in just 27.4 overs.

Hasan Murad, Bangladesh’s young left-arm spinner, stole the spotlight with a stunning hat-trick, finishing with figures of 3 for 1.

Seamers Hasan Mahmud and Taskin Ahmed also impressed, taking two wickets each to keep the home side under pressure.

On the first day, Bangladesh’s batting was bolstered by key contributions from Jaker Ali (48), Mahidul Islam Ankon (41), and 31 apiece from Litton Das and Mominul Haque. Despite steady progress, rain interruptions limited the game’s playtime.

While the draw meant no outright result, the match served as a crucial preparation for Bangladesh, who will be encouraged by their bowlers' strong showing.

The Tigers now focus on the first Test against West Indies, set to begin on November 22 in Antigua.
