Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has minimum expectations for the upcoming IPL auction, aiming to avoid disappointment if he goes unsold.
Rishad is one of 12 Bangladeshi players shortlisted for this month’s auction for the 2024 IPL season. Speaking to reporters in Mirpur on Sunday, the young spinner shared that he is focused on sticking to his usual plans.
"Everyone has a wish (to play in the IPL). But I don't expect too much. I don't hope too much so I don't have to get hurt," said the 22-year-old in MIrpur.
The IPL auction is scheduled for November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. When asked about his preferred team, should he be picked, Rishad revealed his favorite franchise.
"I didn't think of anything like this. Suppose I thought of Chennai, but get picked by another team. Then I may feel bad but my favorite is Kolkata since Shakib (Al Hasan) bhai played there for a long time" Rishad said.
Rishad, who will play for the Fortune Barishal in the upcoming BPL, will fly with Rangpur Riders to play the inaugural Global Super League in Guyana.
