The player draft for the 2024 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will be held on October 14, with the tournament scheduled to kick off on December 27, featuring three new franchises.
This decision was made during a meeting of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Following the meeting, BCB President Faruque Ahmed briefed the media on the updates.
"We discussed the BPL (in today's meeting). The teams are 95% confirmed. Three teams have been changed. We also talked about the regulations. The draft will take place on October 14, and the matches will begin on December 27." Faruque said.
Faruque mentioned that previous franchises, such as Comilla Victorians, Duronto Dhaka, and Chattogram Challengers, will not be part of this year’s BPL.
Instead, Rajshahi will join the tournament, while Dhaka and Chattogram will return under new management.
