Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus called Bangladesh national cricket team captain, Najmul Hossain Shanto, today to congratulate the team on their historic Test series victory against Pakistan in Rawalpindi.

"Heartiest congratulations on behalf of the government and myself. The whole nation is proud of you," the chief adviser told Shanto moments after Bangladesh completed a six-wicket victory in the Second Test to complete a 2-0 clean sweep victory in the two Test series.

Yunus said the Bangladesh team would be accorded a reception once it returns home, according to the Chief Adviser's Office.

Chasing 185, Zakir Hasan scored 40, Shanto and Mominul Haque made steady 30s while the experienced pair of Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan were around to wrap things up, sparking celebratory scenes in the Bangladesh change room.

There was a sense of calmness with which Bangladesh went about achieving their third-highest successful fourth-innings chase. After all, there was historical relevance to it.
