Tasmania edge Bangladesh HP in tri-series

Bangladesh HP failed to defeat Tasmania Tigers in a close contest, suffering a five-wicket loss in the tri-series at the TIO Stadium.
Swashbuckling Jake Doran smashed a 37-ball 71 knocking four boundaries and three sixes in pursuit of 167 runs to quench the team's victory over Bangladesh. Rakibul Hasan was the pick of the bowling attack, taking two wickets, however, it wasn't enough to restrict the Tasmanians.
After being invited to bat first, Bangladesh HP posted 166-5 in 20 overs. The openers Tanzid Tamim and Jishan Alam gave a solid start to their innings amassing 71 runs for the opening wickets.
Tanzid, who was sluggish on the pitch was removed for a runout by Wakim, getting axed for 28 off 29. Another opener Jishan was also dismissed in the next delivery before Parvez Hossain took charge of the game.
Parvez starred with a highest 39 off 29, striking two fours and an equal number of sixes. Akbar Ali and Shamim Hossain played brief innings, contributing 20 and 13 runs respectively. Gabe Bell scalped two wickets for Tasmania.
Bangladesh bowlers made an optimistic start in their defence, slumping Tasmania to 51-3 in 8 overs. The game took a swift turn when Doran and Wakim added 66 runs for the fourth wicket stand.
Doran was unbeaten on 71 and Wakim scored 25 runs before getting castled by Abu Haider Rony. Rafael MacMillan then played a rapid 17-run knock to secure the victory.
