BCB extends Mustafiz’s leave for IPL

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has extended a day Mustafizur Rahman's leave to play in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) as he will get an opportunity to play one more match for Chennai Super Kings. As per the terms of the no-objection letter given by BCB, Mustafiz was supposed to stay in the IPL till April 30.


Mustafiz will be able to play IPL till May 1. Chennai will play against Punjab Kings on that day. If everything goes well, Mustafiz will return to Bangladesh on May 2 after playing the match. BCB Cricket Operations Chairman Jalal Yunus confirmed the matter to Cricfrenzy.

“Mustafiz is supposed to return on the 30th, we have allowed him to play the match on the 1st. Then he will play Zimbabwe series, after that we will not send him again. We want to rest him for a few days before the World Cup. After the Zimbabwe series, the team will play a series in the USA.” Jalal said.


Zimbabwe team will come to Bangladesh to play five T20Is on April 28. The first match of the series will be played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on May 3. Mustafiz has to join the national team before that.


Mustafiz is in a great rhythm so far in IPL. He took 10 wickets in 5 matches. This left-handed pacer of the Bangladesh team is now at number 3 in the list of highest wicket-taker bowlers in IPL.
