In the last few years, umpires of Bangladesh got a big leap in the international arena as Sharfuddoula Saikat, Gazi Sohail, Masudur Rahman Mukul are regularly seen on the big stage. Now the women umpires of Bangladesh are joining that journey.

For the first time, four women umpires from Bangladesh has joined the ICC development panel, confirmed by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) umpires committee chairman Iftikhar Ahmed Mithu to Cricfrenzy.

They are Shathira Jakir Jessy, Rokeya Sultana Chowdhury, Doly Rani Sarkar and Champa Chakma. Meanwhile, Supriya Rani is also joining ICC along with these four as a match referee.
Thanking the BCB umpires department, Jessy wrote on social media about her new journey, “I am happy to announce that I have finally become a part of the ICC umpire panel. I don't know the words to express how happy and lucky I feel. Looking forward to the next step. Pray for me.”
