Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Sakib has been ruled out of the third ODI against Sri Lanka owing to a hamstring injury, confirmed by BCB chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu.
Right-arm fast bowler Hasan Mahmud has been included in the 15-member squad to fill the void of Sakib.
National Team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan said: “Tanzim is experiencing pain and discomfort of his right hamstring. He did not feel any better at training today and is not fit to play tomorrow.”
Sakib's absence is a major setback for Bangladesh as the young fast bowler took four wickets in the first two matches, including three wickets in the first match which contributed to the hosts' six-wicket victory.
The series currently stands at 1-1 following Sri Lanka's victory in the second ODI by three wickets on Friday.
