Former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram has revealed that South Africa batter David Miller earned a hefty amount to play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Miller featured for Fortune Barishal in three matches in BPL, he could not shine with the bat as he scored only 47 runs in three matches 22, 8 and 17 but he helped the side to become the champion of the 10th edition.
Miller featured in the play-off round for Fortune Barishal in the BPL, but he struggled to make an impact with the bat, scoring only 47 runs in three matches (22, 8, and 17).
Despite his individual performance, he played a crucial role in helping his team secure the championship in the 10th edition of the tournament.
In a cricketing show 'The Pavilion' on A Sports, Akram mentioned that the South African cricketer delayed his wedding to participate in the tournament where he received a payment of $150,000 to play for Fortune Barishal.
"I just found out today because we were discussing who won the BPL as we were not following because of the PSL. David Miller was offered $150,000 to play three matches. He postponed his wedding," said Akram.
Even though the swashbuckling batter performed poorly, his presence enhanced the tournament, generating immense excitement among cricket fans.
