Bangladesh stalwart Mushfiqur Rahim lauded captain Najmul Hossain Shanto for his strong mentality and ability to thrive under pressure.

Mushfiqur believes that Shanto has the ability to perform at his best when given more responsibility. According to Mushfiq, Shanto has shown significant improvement in his recent performance for the national team.

"I believe that different formats of cricket require different mindsets. Some players thrive when they are given more responsibility, and this is true for our captain. He performs his best when he has more on his plate. I was confident that he would start making runs for the national team,” said Mushfiqur.

“Shanto is also a great player. He is more fluent and powerful. However, there is still room for improvement, and he can play even better cricket,” he said.

Mushfiqur also highlighted Shanto's ability to play big innings and win games for the team, emphasizing his dedication to the team's success.

“Previously, our captain used to score 50-60 runs when he had a good start, but now he plays big innings and often wins the game for the team. I noticed how he cares for the team when he took a single off the ball after scoring a hundred. He repeatedly reminds us to contribute to the team, even if we score only 20-30 runs, because anything can happen in cricket," he added.
