Towhid blitz leads Comilla to victory over Khulna

Comilla Victorians clinched a seven-wicket win against Khulna Tigers in match-32 of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.
Towhid Hridoy played a blistering 91 off 47 to help Comilla chase down 165 runs and register their fifth straight win in the tournament.
Despite losing their captain Litton Das (2) early, Comilla turned the table with a solid batting display by Towhid and Jaker as they took charge of the game with an 84-run partnership.
Towhid hit seven fours and and equal number of sixes to play the highest-scoring knock and Jaker Ali accompanied him by contributing 40 off 33 in their win.
Will Jacks and Johnson Charles could not shine with the bat as they fell for 18 and 13 runs.
Earlier, opting to bat first Khulna posted 164-8 in the allotted overs. Evin Lewis top-scored with 36 runs in 20 balls smashing three boundaries and two sixes.
English star batter Alex Hales and Afif Hossain led a positive start to their innings, but their partnership was short-lived as Matthew Forde dismissed Hales after scoring 22 runs.
Skipper Anamul Haque (18) also fell early followed by Afif Hossain who scored 29 before getting axed by Aliss Islam.
Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Khulna kept the scoreboard ticking with brief contributions from Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Wayne Parnell, who scored 28 and 20 runs respectively.
Moeen Ali and Forde each grabbed two wickets aside Mustafizur Rahman and Aliss each took one wicket apiece.
