Towhid Hridoy showcased his prowess in a stunning display during the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) season, propelling Comilla Victorians to a thrilling five-wicket triumph over the struggling Durdanto Dhaka side at Mirpur on Friday.

Hridoy's remarkable innings saw him achieve his maiden BPL century in just 53 deliveries, embellished with eight boundaries and six maximums.

After cruising to his half-century in a brisk 32-ball stint, he accelerated even further, needing only 21 more balls to reach the coveted three-figure mark. Immediately after reaching his century, he underlined his dominance by dispatching Dhaka's skipper Taskin Ahmed for a seventh six.

This accomplishment elevates Hridoy into an exclusive group, as he becomes only the sixth Bangladeshi batsman to notch a century in the BPL.

Comilla's victory not only adds ten valuable points to their tally, courtesy of five wins out of seven matches, but also secures them a prominent position among the top three teams in the points table.

Dhaka, batting first, posted a competitive total of 175 for four, fueled by impressive half-centuries from Mohammad Naim (64) and Saif Hassan (57), with Matthew Forde leading the Victorians' bowling attack with three crucial wickets.

Despite a shaky start, losing three wickets for just 23 runs, Hridoy's magnificent century turned the tide in Comilla's favor.
