Rangpur thrash Sylhet Strikers to end Sylhet phase of BPL

Rangpur Riders thrashed Sylhet Strikers by 77 runs in the last Sylhet phase match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on Saturday.


Rangpur skipper Nurul Hasan Sohan, who led from the front to reach 162 total, was named the player of the match with his excellent 46 off 30.


Pakistan star Babar Azam continued his top form as he scored 47 off 37 balls while Azmatullah Omarzai played a good hand of 22 off 14.

Shakib Al Hasan was promoted to bat at number four but again failed with a golden duck.


In reply, Sylhet were bowled out for 85 in 16.5 overs.


Only Ryan Burl made a decent contribution with 43 off 32. No other batter except Samit Patel scored a second-digit run.


The spin trio of Mahedi Hasan (3-13), Mohammad Nabi (3-17) and Shakib (2-18) shared eight wickets among them.


With this win, Rangpur went to the top of the table.
