Rangpur Riders’ all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan set to miss Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) action due to eyesight problems as he is going to Singapore for treatment tomorrow (Sunday).
It is not confirmed yet when he will return country as it will depend on the treatment procedure.
In this regard, BCB's chief doctor Debashish Choudhury told Cricfrenzy, “Shakib has been suffering from eye problems for several days. Going to Singapore tomorrow under the supervision of BCB for expert advice.”
Rangpur Riders captain Nurul Hasan Sohan also addressed the issue after his side's five-wicket defeat to Fortune Barishal today at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
"He has been struggling with eyesight problem for sometimes now. I think he has been in touch with the doctors regularly. The doctors only could say in what stage the problem is now," said Sohan
Shakib's batting performance for Rangpur Riders was limited, contributing just 2 runs, but he showcased his bowling prowess by claiming 2 wickets for 16 runs in four overs.
Amidst the World Cup, Shakib sought medical advice in India on two occasions.
Before the BPL commenced, he underwent treatment in London, returning to Dhaka just in time for Rangpur's inaugural match.
